03/30 - Workshop--Estate Planning and More

posted Mar 2, 2014, 6:06 PM by Web Admin   [ updated Apr 7, 2014, 9:35 AM ]
Many of us are procrastinators -- we put off washing the car because it will rain soon, we don't write our thank-you notes for Christmas presents until, all of a sudden, it's Christmas season again, or we finally finish knitting the baby sweater when the "baby" is a teenager.

Another very popular example of procrastination is waiting months or years to establish or update your estate plan and deciding to whom you will leave your "stuff" when you die. Well, now is the time to begin putting your estate planning affairs in order. You will feel relieved when it is done.

On Sunday, March 30, 2014, after the worship service and until 1:45p.m., the General Endowment Committee is sponsoring a workshop for those of you who are interested in getting ready to establish or update your estate planning.

Some of the topics to be discussed are:
  • Organization of your existing estate planning documents and financial information
  • Funeral arrangements
  • Writing your obituary
  • Deciding who your executor, trustee and agent should be
  • And, who should be the guardian of your minor children.
Each attendee will be given a Life Folio notebook containing helpful checklists and materials. A light lunch will be served. There will be a charge of $7 per attendee. Life Folio workbooks must be ordered ahead of time, so to ensure that you receive one, please make your reservation no later than March 6, by contacting Tomika, the church secretary, at 501-372-1804 or
